This week, the FractureLine Team dives headfirst into the discussion of Length Of Stay (LOS) as a metric for success in rib fixation. Opinions are mixed about the details but **(SPOILER ALERT)** the overarching idea is that LOS stinks and muddies the water in measuring true outcomes in rib trauma. What should take its' place? Dr. Brewer is also the 2024 Winner of EAST's Essay Contest, making her the recipient of the Oriens Award! Next year she will be taking her skills to New Orleans at LSU with Dr. Greiffenstein!!

FL Introduces Dr. Crystal Zhang, MD, MPH

Dr. Zhang has jumped into CWIS membership with attendance at CWIS International and a presentation there, and now will be attending CWISummit 2024 with more to teach us! We also get some updates about the Summit and hear about where members can find us next until that time!

We circled back on our newest fundraiser: Funding the Future in Fractures, hammering home the importance this has on our CWIS's future growth and the impact it will have on our patients going forward. Finally, there is considerable time given to Dr. Kryskow's mustache and its goal to raise awareness for prostate cancer.

We also got an update on the abstract deadline for the upcoming CWISummit (hint: it's now Nov 8th @ 23:59).
